Maynard is along the route of a 500 mile run to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. The runner is starting in Acadia National Park in Maine and running to MetLife Stadium in NJ, the site of the Superbowl. He will be coming down 62 from Concord/Acton.

“A Maine man is running 500 miles in 10 days starting on January 24th from the Summit of Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park in Maine, to Superbowl XLVIII in East Rutherford, NJ, to raise funds for the Wounded Warrior Project.
Gary Allen, 56, of Great Cranberry Island, a tiny off-shore island located off the Maine coast, will begin his solo run at sunrise from the first place in the USA to see the morning sun, Cadillac Mountain. He plans to run 10 consecutive 50-mile days thru at times vicious and unpredictable New England winter weather. He will finish at the MetLife stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, site of Superbowl XLVIII. ”
