Maynard Police Arrest Man for 4th OUI Offense
MAYNARD — Chief Mark Dubois reports that the Maynard Police Department early Saturday morning arrested a man for driving with a suspended license and charged him with his fourth offense of Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol.
RONALD ROYSE, AGE 48, OF ACTON was charged with:
- Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol (Fourth Offense)
- Operating With a Suspended License (Subsequent Offense)
- One Way Street Violation
- Motor Vehicle Lights Violation
- Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle
On June 4 at approximately 1:16 a.m., Officer Thomas Palmerino was patrolling Nason Street when he noticed a vehicle with no headlights or taillights active, traveling the wrong way up the road.
Officer Palmerino caught up with the vehicle near the Maynard Fire Department and conducted a motor vehicle stop. ROYSE pulled over in a convenience store parking lot and immediately got out of the vehicle and held his hands up.
Officers on scene noticed that ROYSE had slurred speech and a strong odor of alcohol coming from him. He then failed multiple field sobriety tests. A breath test was administered, and ROYSE registered a .128, which is more than 50% higher than the legal limit of .08.
ROYSE was held at the Maynard Police Department on $10,000 cash bail pending his arraignment Monday morning in Concord District Court.
