On Saturday December 1, 2012 the Maynard Police Department arrested Robert M. Redfield, age 21, of 113 Dawn Road, Maynard and Joseph W. Redfield, age 26, of 135 Main Street, Apt #1, Maynard as the result of an ongoing investigation involving multiple motor vehicle breaks.
Maynard Police Officer Brian Cushing was investigating the rash of motor vehicle breaks and larceny of property that started in July 2012 and continued until the arrests. Maynard Police investigated over forty car breaks since July and the Redfield brothers are believed to be responsible. The items stolen from these breaks include cash, electronic items such as IPODS, Laptops, and GPS devices along with many personal items.
The arrests and subsequent search warrants resulted in Maynard Police recovering multiple stolen items that will be returned to the owner. There are currently many items for which owners are not currently identified. We ask that if you are the victim of a recent motor vehicle break where personal property was stolen, please contact the Maynard Police department.
Maynard Police are also working with area police departments to help identify other victims and return recovered property. The investigation is being continued by Officer Brian Cushing, Officer Paul Maria, Officer Chris Sweeney and Sgt. Michael Noble.
Robert Redfield was held in the Maynard Police Department on $5,000 cash bail and will be arraigned in Concord District Court on several counts of Receiving Stolen Property over $250 and Conspiracy.
Joseph Redfield was held in the Maynard Police Department on $8,000 cash bail and will be arraigned in Concord District Court on several counts of Receiving Stolen Property over $250 (Subsequent offense), Conspiracy, and Possession of Ammunition without a FID card.
