On Thursday August 22, 2013 at 12:45 am a female was stopped on Great Road by a male impersonating a police officer.
The female was traveling west on Route 117 and noticed a vehicle following her for several miles. In the area of the Maynard and Stow town line the vehicle activated a blue flashing light. The female stopped thinking it was a police officer. The male approached her and ordered her to exit the vehicle. The female was suspicious, drove away and immediately called the Stow Police. Maynard and Stow officers responded to the area and were unable to locate the suspect. The investigation is continuing.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 40’s, short brown hair, facial acne scaring, feminine voice, over 6 feet tall and approximately 225 lbs.
The vehicle is a dark colored large sedan similar to a police cruiser with a single blue strobe light on the dash board.
If anyone has any information please contact Detective Seeley at the Maynard Police Department.
Residents are reminded that police officers in unmarked police cruisers will identify themselves immediately when making motor vehicle stops.
