MAYNARD — Police Chief Michael Noble and Fire Chief Angela Lawless would like to remind residents that the Maynard Police and Fire Departments along with Maynard Dispatch will be conducting Active Shooter Hostile Event Response (ASHER) training today.
Training will begin at 11 a.m. and go until 3 p.m., and will take place at Maynard High School, 1 Tiger Drive.
Residents should be aware that while training is being conducted, there will be increased public safety and law enforcement presence in the area near the high school. This drill is a part of routine training hosted by Maynard Police and Fire.
Additionally, Maynard Police, Fire and Dispatch will be using department radios to simulate real-life scenarios during training. Community members who may follow scanners are asked to remain calm as this is part of the training exercise.
