MAYNARD — The Maynard Police Department arrested and charged a 36-year-old man with open and gross lewdness following an investigation on the Assabet River Rail Trail.
JONATHAN WICKLMAN, age 36, of NO KNOWN ADDRESS, was arrested and charged with:
- Open and Gross Lewdness (Two Counts)
- Lewd, Wanton and Lascivious Conduct (Two Counts)
- Disorderly Conduct (Two Counts)
On Tuesday, Sept. 15, the Maynard Police Department received an anonymous complaint that included a photograph and two videos. That content appeared to depict an individual exposing himself and committing lewd acts while seated on a bench along the Assabet River Rail Trail near the intersection of Summer and Maple Streets.
Police subsequently received a second report alleging similar conduct occurred earlier that same day.
Maynard Police Officers and Detectives immediately began investigating, corroborating information and working to identify the individual involved. Police subsequently obtained an arrest warrant for WICKLMAN from Concord District Court.
On the evening of Friday, Sept. 18, Maynard Police located WICKLMAN and arrested him without incident on the warrant.
WICKLMAN was scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Concord District Court.
“I want to recognize our officers and detectives for their prompt and thorough response to these reports,” said Chief Christopher Troiano. “The Assabet River Rail Trail is heavily used by members of our community, including families and children, and we take reports of this nature seriously. I also want to thank the individuals who brought this concerning activity to our attention.”
These are allegations. All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
